Education

Internships

The field of nutrition and dietetics is an exciting and continually growing field! To be eligible to become a registered dietitian (RD), a proper education is necessary.

There are two options:

  1. Either an aspiring registered dietitian can choose to complete an approved bachelor’s degree (including the pre-requisites for a dietetic internship) followed by a Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) approved dietetic internship, or
  2. An aspiring RD can elect to complete a coordinated program in dietetics, which combines the undergraduate education and internship into one experience.

Following the successful completion of one of these two options, a student will be qualified to take the RD national certification exam.
