Scholarships
Be proactive in searching for scholarships to fund your nutrition education and path to becoming a dietetic professional.
There are five main avenues for funding to explore:
- Apply for university-level scholarships awarded by the nutrition department. Consult your academic advisor for more information.
- Apply for scholarships through your local district-level dietetic association. Many districts encourage students in their journal toward becoming a RD, the nutrition expert, by providing them with free money!
- Explore the Texas Dietetic Association Foundation (TDAF) website for statewide scholarships.
- Search the American Dietetic Association Foundation (ADAF) website for national scholarships. The ADAF awards over $200,000 worth of awards each year.
- If you are a TSDA member, apply for the TSDA scholarship awarded every spring at the TSDA meeting held at TDA FNCE.
TSDA Scholarships
TSDA will award scholarships to select TSDA members to cover the registration fee for ADA FNCE 2010 and TDA FNCE 2011. Click here to apply for the scholarship for ADA FNCE registration! (The TDA FNCE scholarship application will be posted in the spring.)
In addition, TSDA will award its annual, traditional scholarship to support dietetics education. Winners of the academic scholarship will be announced at the TSDA meeting at TDA FNCE on April 7, 2011. The scholarship winner need not be present to win. To be eligible for a TSDA scholarship, a student must be a paid TSDA member. A student must also be enrolled full-time in a dietetics education program for the upcoming school year or have applied and be awaiting acceptance. All academic scholarships will be awarded for the 2011-2012 academic school year.
